Almi Tankers S.A. Appoints New CEO

Almi Tankers S.A. announces that as of September 30th, 2013, Captain Stylianos Dimouleas will assume the duties of company CEO, replacing Captain Panayotis Drosos, who has decided to leave the company in order to pursue another opportunity in the field of tanker management. Captain Drosos had been the founding CEO of the company, since its establishment in February 2009.

Captain Dimouleas has broad knowledge of the industry, having both extensive seafaring and shore based experience. He spent 16 years of his career at sea with a company that operates both Bulkers and Tankers, serving as an Officer and Master on board Aframax, Suezmax and VLCC tankers. He has overseen five newbuilding projects involving Aframaxes, Suezmaxes and VLCCs. After concluding his seafaring career, he went on to work ashore as Marine and Vetting Team Leader and as DPA, CSO and EMR for a shipping company operating Suezmaxes and MR product Tankers, as well as Panamax Bulkers.

In September 2010, he joined the Almi Tankers team in the capacity of Human Resources Manager and oversaw the Investors in People standard recognition as Project Leader. He was also accountable for the Company’s HR expansion plan for both sea and shore personnel. In October 2012, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer, and in June 2013 he was appointed Deputy CEO.

In a personal statement, the departing CEO, Captain Drosos said:

"I am very proud to have been part of Almi Tankers during the past 4.5 years. We have assembled a very capable and hard-working team and we are achieving world-class performance. Having the opportunity to set up a new vessel operating company from the beginning, and according to very high standards, was an extremely rewarding experience, and I am proud to be able to claim that we achieved our initial vision of growing into a reliable tanker management company characterised by its operational integrity.

I was very reluctant to leave Almi Tankers but could not resist the challenge of applying all that I have learned to a company that is also very close to my heart, as that is where I started my career.

Captain Dimouleas and I have been working very closely together and I am glad that he will be taking over as CEO, as I am confident that he will continue improving on what we, as a team, have achieved so far."

Almi Tankers S.A. would like to thank Captain Drosos for his 4.5 years of valuable service, consistent high performance and flawless co-operation, and wishes him all the best in his future endeavours, both personally and professionally. His achievements have set the bar very high for the remaining Almi team members.

Finally, Almi Tankers is delighted Captain Dimouleas has accepted the role of CEO. His experience and strong background in the shipping industry will be a huge asset to the future of the company. He will enjoy the company's full support, and Almi Tankers is confident that under his leadership and strategic guidance it will achieve even further success within our industry. Everyone at Almi Tankers S.A. congratulates Captain Dimouleas and wishes him every success for the future.
