We are looking for a Trainee Marine Officer to join our Head Office team in Athens for a ten (10) month employment contract.
The successful candidate should have:
Qualifications:
- University Degree in Shipping/Economics/Shipping Law/Business Management/Science.
Desirable Skills & Knowledge:
- Administrative, organisational and planning skills.
- Teamworker with an ability to build good working relationships.
- Good writing and auditing skills.
- Agile Learner with a Growth Mindset.
- Very good knowledge of the English language, supported by evidence of relevant professional experience and/or a first certificate of proficiency in the English language as a minimum.
- Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promotion of Company’s Vision, Mission, Values and Behaviours both internally and externally
- Maintain and revise the fleet vessels’ audits plan under the guidance of the Marine Manager
- Prepare the reports for the management review committee
- Review and follow up monthly forms/reports from the fleet vessels
- Arrange the fleet vessels’ Flag Inspections
- Maintain the Marine Department’s filing system

- Knowledge of the ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards.
- Knowledge of vessels, shipping operations and global trade.
- Understanding of commercial and business issues.

- Good writing and auditing skills.
- Agile Learner with a Growth Mindset.

- Maintaining list of controlled documents, revisions and amendments.
- Preparing, controlling and distributing documents in line with IMSM requirements.
- Provide updates on the status of non-conformities.
- Drug and alcohol testing management.
- Certificates’ monitoring.
- Departmental Invoices’ handling.
- Preparing, monitoring and following up the internal auditing schedule and keeping the DPA updated.
