We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our Head Office team in Athens.
The successful candidate should have:
Qualifications:
- University Degree preferably in an industry related field.
- At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar position in the Purchasing Department within a shipping company (preferably operating tankers).
Desirable Skills & Knowledge:
- Administrative, organisational and planning skills.
- Teamworker with an ability to build and sustain good working relationships.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Good assessment, monitoring, attention-to-detail, analytical-thinking and decision-making skills.
- Agile Learner with a Growth Mindset.
- Very good knowledge of the English language, supported by evidence of relevant professional experience and/or a first certificate of proficiency in the English language as a minimum.
- Microsoft Office Suite and procurement supporting software knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote Company’s Vision, Mission, Values and Behaviours both internally and externally.
- Oversee the purchasing, monitoring, and timely delivery of materials, spare parts, provisions, and office supplies for vessels and the head office, ensuring smooth operations.
- Evaluate vendor quotations, issue purchase orders, track deliveries, manage customs and freight forwarding, maintain supplier records, and conduct vendor audits.
- Monitor procurement activities, check invoices, propose system improvements, provide procurement training, and report pending requisitions while supporting emergency response tasks.
