We are looking for a Superintendent Engineer to join our Head Office Team in Athens.
The successful candidate should have:
Qualifications:
- Class 1 or 2 Certificate of Competency (Engine Officer) with at least two (2) years actual sea service as Chief Engineer on board tankers and two (2) years office experience with a tanker shipping company as Technical Supt. Engineer.
or
- A Degree in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture with at least five (5) years office experience with a tanker shipping company as Superintendent Engineer.
Desirable Skills & Knowledge:
- Very good knowledge of the vessels’ technical operation, effective maintenance and repair. Experience in electronic type main engines will be considered an asset.
- Knowledge of international maritime rules and regulations (IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL).
- Knowledge of VIQ / TMSA3 requirements.
- Knowledge of maritime risk assessment and management.
- The ability to travel.
- Good communication & interpersonal skills, team spirit, agile learner.
- Growth mindset and a self-motivated drive for continuous improvement.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to ensuring the highest quality standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills able to identify and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Proficient general IT skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist the Chief Technical Officer in developing the strategy and procedures for ensuring the proper maintenance, repair and technical operation of the Company’s vessels.
- To guarantee continuous monitoring of the condition and performance of vessels’ structure and machinery as well as proper maintenance and repair as necessary.
- To lead by example and guide, motivate, empower team members developing also their knowledge and skills.
