Almi Tankers receives letter of recognition for outstanding performance and technical management from DNV!

During Posidonia 2026, a small ceremony was held at the DNV stand for the presentation of the award given by DNV to Almi Tankers S.A.

According to DNV, this award celebrates Almi’s:

  • Consistently superior quality and safety performance;
  • Zero Port State Control (PSC) detentions over a 41-year life span of two VLCCs and two Suezmax tankers;
  • Achievement and maintenance of six ISO certifications: ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001.

DNV went on to acknowledge that: “In an increasingly complex and highly regulated maritime landscape, consistent operational performance is a defining indicator of robust technical management and a strong safety culture. By maintaining exceptional standards across its fleet, Almi Tankers demonstrates a disciplined and forward-looking approach to vessel operations – where safety, reliability, and continuous improvement are embedded in everyday practice.”

The award was received by Mr. Michael Fostiropoulos, Principal, and Captain Stylianos Dimouleas, CEO of Almi Tankers. Captain Stylianos commented: “While we greatly appreciate this acknowledgment from DNV, the true credit belongs to our seafarers and shore-based teams whose professionalism, dedication, and unwavering focus on operational integrity make such achievements possible every day. Almi Tankers recognised as one of the “Best Workplaces 2026”!

Almi Tankers S.A. has officially earned the “Best Workplaces 2026” certification in the category of 251-1000 employees. The Best Workplaces™ Hellas 2026 list, recognising companies with exceptional work environments in Greece, was featured in a special edition by Greek newspaper Kathimerini ‘Η ΚΑΘΗΜΕΡΙΝΗ’ on Sunday, May 3, 2026. Almi Tankers remains the first shipping company in Greece and the only one in 2026 as well as 2025 to have obtained this certification for its seafarers ‘On Board’.

This isn’t just a badge; it represents our commitment to maintaining a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment at our Head Office but also on every vessel of our fleet operating worldwide. It represents our invitation to all of our team members, ashore and aboard, to participate in the survey and share their feedback.

Our CEO, Captain Stylianos Dimouleas commented: “This certification is a direct reflection of your dedication, your daily hard work, your personal commitment to operational integrity and the incredible culture we are building together. Thank you for making Almi Tankers a wonderful place to work on board and ashore!”

Congratulations to the team!

Almi Tankers S.A. is the first shipping company in Greece and the only one in 2026 as well as 2025 to obtain  the ‘Great Place to Work’ Certification for both ‘On Board’ and ‘Head Office’!

Once again, for the second year in a row, Almi Tankers ‘Head Office’ and Almi Tankers ‘On Board’ are officially ‘Great Place to Work Certified’. Almi Tankers remains the first shipping company in Greece and the only one in 2026 as well as 2025 to have obtained this certification for its seafarers ‘On Board’.

The Great Place to Work Certification is an official recognition earned by the real-time feedback of employees regarding their company culture.

‘We are proud to have nurtured a culture of transparent communication where people both at the Head Office and On Board feel safe and encouraged to share, receive and act on constructive feedback. We value what our people share, and their insights contribute to fostering our Company’s culture of trusting, caring and investing in people. We cultivate a feedback culture on board and at the Head Office as we believe that people feel more engaged and connected, amplifying agility, innovation and high performance.

Congratulations to our people, every team member on board our vessels and at the Head Office, for this achievement!’ shared the CEO, Captain Stylianos Dimouleas.

Almi Tankers meets with SAID Business School, University of Oxford, once again!

A 4-day programme, collaboratively designed and developed with the university based on the Oxford approach to Scenario Planning, was delivered from November 17 to 20, to 34 team members across all levels of the organisation.

The team worked on three live cases addressing major, known and unknown plausible futures and challenges.

Our CEO, Captain Stylianos Dimouleas commented: “Almi Tankers operates in a TUNA (Turbulent, Uncertain, Novel, Ambiguous) global environment, during a period of profound and accelerating transformation. The maritime sector is being reshaped by the global push toward decarbonisation, rapid technological innovation, changing workforce expectations and geopolitical fragmentation. These forces are not isolated, they interact in ways that create both new risks and new strategic opportunities. The programme assisted in creating real scenarios on how to cope with plausible futures and remain competitive, compliant and resilient through intertwined pressures of making the green transition, workforce transformation, and geopolitical tensions and uncertainties toward 2050. We were truly privileged to work with two extraordinary Professors, Dr. Cynthia Selin and Dr. Cho Khong, who made that possible. We wholeheartedly thank them for this unique experience as well as Rob Walters and Said Business School.”

This training follows on from the tailor-made programme on ‘High Performance Leadership’, again delivered by SAID Business School, in-house at Almi Tankers. The programme had a significant impact on Almi Tankers, both in transforming the leadership culture and contributing to business and operational successes. The Almi Tankers High Performance Leadership Programme is live on Oxford Said Business School’s website as a custom executive education case study: https://www.sbs.ox.ac.uk/programmes/executive-education/bespoke-business-solutions/customised-business-solutions/case-studies-and-insights/almi-tankers-leadership-programme
