Athens College Shipping Club X Almi Tankers Summer Camp 2026

In June 2026, Almi Tankers hosted a Summer Camp for Athens College Shipping Club students aged 14-16, a ten-day internship programme at its Head Office for first year high school and third-year junior high school students. Seventeen student members of Athens College’s Shipping Club had the opportunity to engage with the company’s executives and gain first-hand insight into how a shipping company manages its personnel, vessels, cargo operations, and the overall logistics and supply chain as well as the Economics and Strategy behind shipping investment decisions. Each Department delivered a presentation to the students explaining what their role and contribution is to the company. The programme was curated and delivered by Mr. Michael Fostiropoulos.

It concluded with a series of final presentations, during which the participants, divided into four teams, presented their own shipping industry investment proposal. All four presentations received highly positive feedback. The proposals were evaluated by a panel of Almi Tankers executives, and the team receiving the highest score was awarded the “Markos Kynigos Award – 1st Business Investment Exploration Workshop”, established in memory of Markos Kynigos, Founding Director of Psychico College. Parents of the participating students were invited to attend the final presentations, alongside Almi Tankers executives and representatives of Athens College.
