On October 21, Lloyd’s Register issued a Letter of Appreciation to Almi Tankers S.A. in recognition of its outstanding port state inspection performance in both the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and European and North Atlantic (Paris MOU) inspection regimes.

In the letter, Lloyd’s Register states that Almi’s average observation rate for the past ten years (2010-2020) is well below global fleet benchmarks (0.04 compared to 0.57 for USCG and 0.02 compared to 2.44 for Paris MOU) with zero observations across the fleet for the majority of years during this period. In addition, Almi Tankers has a flawless record in Safety Management System External Inspections with ZERO non-conformances in more than 60 ship and office external audits since 2010.

The letter goes on to say that as Safety is in the DNA of Lloyd’s Register, such excellent performance is greatly appreciated, recognising the company’s dedication and stating that Lloyd’s Register is grateful for collaborating with Almi Tankers.

Almi Tankers’ CEO, Captain Stylianos Dimouleas, upon receiving the letter shared the following:

“I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to our people aboard and ashore for this achievement. I feel very proud to serve a team like ours and I am confident that we will continue to work hard towards safety excellence.”

Congratulations to the whole team!
