Our People go Gold!

Almi Tankers is proud to announce that it has not only retained its Silver recognition according to the Investors in People standard but has achieved Gold accreditation following an assessment conducted in September 2020 remotely due to Covid-19 by Investors in People International. Higher levels of accreditation indicate performance amelioration in people management, benchmarked against global industry practices. This achievement could not have been accomplished without the willing, honest and open participation of all Almi Tankers Head Office team members, whose continuous commitment to our values, professionalism and efforts to work together as one team towards achieving our vision, have been invaluable.

The Investors in People (IIP) standard is a UK framework for improving business performance through the training, development and management of people that has achieved international recognition over its 30 year history with a community of 15,000 organisations across 75 countries. In 2020, Almi Tankers’ benchmark exceeded the IIP benchmark by 58 points and the Transportation and Storage sector average by a substantial 96 points while holding 3rd place of 55 organisations in total in this sector. Almi Tankers is the only shipping company in Greece to hold a Gold accreditation from Investors in People. By maintaining this recognition, our team has accomplished an objective that was set at the establishment of the company in 2009 – the initial accreditation was achieved in July 2011 and renewed in July 2014. Almi Tankers has always identified its people as the key contributor to its success and had pursued the Investors in People recognition in order to officially declare its commitment to helping its people fulfil their potential and recognise their contribution.

Almi Tankers intends to further optimise the way it manages people through the management of change process and by constantly implementing our philosophy of continuous improvement.

Congratulations to the whole team!

IIP Press Release

Redelivery of Almi Hydra – under the Management of Almi Tankers!

We are very glad to announce that M/T Almi Hydra (previously Hydra Voyager) has been redelivered to Almi Tankers’ Management after 7 years on long term Bareboat charter with Chevron Transport Corporation LTD.

M/T Almi Hydra was built by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd (DSME) to the highest industry standards at DSME’s Okpo Shipyard in 2013. She is a 319,000 DWT tanker equipped with the MAN HHI 7G80ME-C9.2 Green-type engine and OceanSaver’s Filtration & Electrodialysis Ballast Water Treatment System. The G-type is an ultra long stroke engine, which in conjunction with a larger diameter propeller offers significant fuel savings and produces less emissions than engines with the same output, thus classifying it as one of the most environmentally efficient propulsion systems.

M/T Almi Hydra flies the Liberian flag and is classed under Lloyd’s Register.

We wish to her Master and his crew, Fair Winds and Following Seas.

USCG Qualship 21 for Almi Navigator, now all 13 Almi Tankers vessels with Qualship 21!

Almi Tankers S.A. is proud to announce that Almi Navigator has been recognised by the United States Coast Guard for meeting the requirements of their Quality Shipping in the 21st Century programme, also known as Qualship 21, which identifies high-quality vessels and rewards them for their commitment to safety and quality. The U.S. Coast Guard implemented this initiative on January 1, 2001.

All of our fleet is now certified with Qualship 21 and it is worth pointing out that less than 20% of all foreign-flagged vessels that operate in the United States meet the strict eligibility requirements of this programme.

We would like to congratulate all of our people on board once again for consistently maintaining an exceptional commitment to quality.
