The Almi Atlas was designed in accordance to the latest regulations and industry requirements in order to satisfy our customers’ needs, therefore special emphasis was placed on creating an environmentally friendly design. The vessel is among the most Eco-friendly ships worldwide, designed with our responsibility to safeguard the environment in mind.

Among other eco-friendly technologies on board, the Almi Atlas is equipped with the HYUNDAI-B&W   7G80ME – C9.5 – EGRTC (Tier III) Green-type engine – she is one of the first vessels of her size with a Tier III engine. The G-type is an ultra long stroke engine, which, in conjunction with a larger diameter propeller, offers significant fuel savings and produces less emissions than engines with the same output, thus classifying it as one of the most environmentally efficient propulsion systems. The vessel is equipped with the Hyundai HiBallast HiB 6000ex Ballast Water Treatment System and is one of the first vessels worldwide fitted with SOx Scrubber going above and beyond industry requirements in a constant effort to anticipate and satisfy customer needs.

Almi Tankers recognises the need to consistently and continuously improve performance, especially in environmental issues. Therefore, all vessels in Almi Tankers’ fleet will always be equipped with top of the line technologies to enhance safety and ensure the best possible protection of the environment. The vessel specifications reflect Almi Tankers’ aim of ensuring reliable and efficient operation throughout the vessel’s life.

The Almi Atlas flies the Liberian flag and is classed under DNV-GL.

Our People go Silver!

Almi Tankers is proud to announce that it has not only retained its recognition according to the Investors in People standard but has achieved Silver accreditation following an assessment conducted in June 2017 at the Head Office by Investors in People International. Higher levels of accreditation indicate performance amelioration in people management, benchmarked against global industry practices. This achievement could not have been accomplished without the willing, honest and open participation of all Almi Tankers Head Office team members, whose continuous commitment to our values, professionalism and efforts to work together as one team towards achieving our vision, have been invaluable.

The Investors in People (IIP) standard is a UK framework for improving business performance through the training, development and management of people that has achieved international recognition over its 30 year history. Almi Tankers is the only shipping company in Greece to hold an accreditation from Investors in People and one of only five shipping organisations to have been accredited worldwide.By maintaining this recognition, our team has accomplished an objective that was set at the establishment of the company in 2009 – the initial accreditation was achieved in July 2011 and renewed in July 2014. Almi Tankers has always identified its people as the key contributor to its success and had pursued the Investors in People recognition in order to officially declare its commitment to helping its people fulfil their potential and recognise their contribution.

Almi Tankers intends to further optimise the way it manages people through the management of change process and by constantly implementing our philosophy of continuous improvement.

Congratulations to the whole team!
